Also known as Nan khatai, its one of many of my mom's gems .. It has been on our favorite list for many years now.  I have memories of my mom making it in a stove top oven made of Tin. I can still remember how my mom used to make it on demand and of course she still does make those. No words can sum up the heavenly taste..just got to eat it.

I have tried my hand at it when I initially got introduced to baking but wasn't satisfied with the result, so had given up. Recently I had a craving to eat these biscuits and so dared to try it yet again and needless to say it was a great hit at home!!

Ingredients -

Maida 1 cup
Powdered sugar 3/4 cup
Dry fruit powder (almond, cashew, walnut) 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Ghee 1/2 cup (at room temperature)

Method of Preparation -

In a mixing bowl, add maida, sugar, dry fruit powder, cardamom powder and make a dough with ghee.

Pinch out 2 teaspoons of dough and roll between the palms of your hands and make discs without any cracks.

Place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet atleast an inch apart.

Bake them at 375 F for 8-9 minutes (depending on the oven).

Take them out if the tops develop slight cracks and the bottom portion has slightly browned.

Cool them on  a cooling rack and watch them disappear !!!

This also goes to the PanchPakwan's Mother's day Event .

Serves 7 Adults (about 20-22 biscuits)
Preparation Time 30 min
