My daughter was complaining the other day that she wasn't eating any 'interesting' snack for a while and so I came up with these cutlets. If there are any moms with 8 yr olds at home, they might empathize with me on my plight. The word 'interesting' takes so many meanings and each time they baffle me! These kids amaze me with their ever changing likes and dislikes. It was almost time for my daughter to come back from school and I was thinking hard what to offer for a snack , when I thought I would experiment with cabbage and semiya and make cutlets and so here I am blogging about these cutlets..Feel free to add as any veggies as possible to suit your tastes. Also add any other spices to give your personal touch!

Ingredients

Cabbage finely chopped and Boiled 1 cup
Potatoes Boiled and Mashed 1 cup
Semiya(Vermicell) boiled 1 cup
Bread 4 slices
Ginger 1 inch
Salt as per taste
Green chillies 2-3 or as per taste
Coriander leaves chopped 2 Tbsp

Method Of Preparation -

Mix the finely chopped and boiled cabbage, boiled and mashed potatoes, boiled semiya and mix well.

Add salt, grated ginger, and chopped green chillies.

Cut the sides of the bread slices and dip them water, squeeze the water out and scatter over the above mixture.

Mix well so that it results in a dough. Make as many discs as possible with the dough and shallow fry them on both sides on a hot griddle/tava.

Serve them hot with tomato ketchup or chutney of your choice. (Sprinkle some Black salt (Kala namak) on the cutlets to lend some punch to the cutlets!!).

This makes it to the CKF- Festive Foods -Sweet/Savory Versions hosted by Suma and initiated by Sharmi and also to Akila's 'Dish Name starts with C'
