Here is another Oriyan Delight. It is typically prepared as an offering to The Goddess Durga. Also it is a special breakfast.
I made this as a snack for the kids and the older one loved it. Check out this fennel flavored sweet dosa for Day 3 Week 3 of BM #29.

Ingredients -
Wheat Flour 3/4 cup
Sooji 1/4 cup
Sugar 4-5 Tbsp
Coconut, shredded, frozen or fresh or dry 2 Tbsp
Banana, ripe and mashed 1 medium
Sounf / Fennel seeds, crushed 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Method Of Preparation -
Mix the flour, sooji, sugar, shredded coconut, crushed fennel and salt.
Blend the banana with enough water and pour it into the flour mixture. Mix the flour well adding water if needed to make a thick batter.
Heat a griddle / tawa and pour a ladle full of batter and quickly spread in a circular motion like a dosa. Spray some oil all around the dosa.
Cover and cook for a couple minutes until the under side is cooked. Flip and cook the other side as well.
Remove and continue for the remaining batter.
Serve warm with any accompaniment of your choice.

Quite an unusual dosa.. Looks yummy!!
Very delicious recipe.. looks great !!
Atta chakuli looks delicious. Oriyan cuisine is new to me and liked all your recipes this week.
I too prepare but without bananas, maybe banana would give softness to the dosa.
oh one of my fav evening snack when we were small...my mom calls it "Maduram dosha"
Minus the sooji, I had made recently for a huge crowd. Guess looking at your picture sooji would have surely helped the dish...:)..enjoyed the breakfast series harini..
Love the flavor of fennel . Looks great..
I too make these dosas, but I do not add fennel seeds. This must have given nice flavor to the dosa
One of childhood favorite, but we dont add soji and fennel seeds. Love to have this anytime.
Seriously this dosa sounds exactly like sweet wheat dosa apart from the addition of fennel seeds..Loving it.
