Karivepaku Podi which my mom makes is a star attraction for me and my family. Amma sent some with my cousin who was travelling to our place. So festival time for us !! Yay!! I rarely make this podi at home as it doesn't taste as good as what my mom makes. So this time I pestered her to give me the secret ingredient(s) and what do I see in the list? Pepper, Sesame Seeds...never added these to the mix! Anyway now that I know where the taste comes from, I shall recreate the magic, so to say.
By the way, this powder is very good for lactating moms as this aids in digestion and also aids in healing. Needless to say Coconut powder and Chana Dal need to be eliminated from this recipe for new moms.
