For Day 2 Week 3 of BM #42, Here is an another interesting snack idea for the kids.
My friend, Pooja gave me this idea. She says her mom used to make this for her snack in her childhood. Isn't it interesting that such delightful snacks were popular almost 2-3 decades back?
A very neat idea to use up the leftover rotis as well! Check this out and adjust the flavors to suit your palate.
Ingredients -
Rotis/Tortillas 2 (I used home made rotis)
Besan/Chickpea Flour 4 Tbsp
Carrots, grated 2 Tbsp
Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chaat Masala, Ajwain, Mint as needed
Method Of Preparation -
In a bowl, add besan, grated carrots and all the spices as needed and make a thick spreadable paste.
Heat a griddle, apply the besan paste on one side of the roti/tortilla and spray a few drops of oil on the griddle and put in the roti with the paste side on the bottom.
Let it cook and brown while applying the paste on the top of the roti. After the underside is cooked, flip and cook the other side as well.
After both the sides are cooked well, remove on to a plate and cut into desired shapes and sizes.
Continue with the other roti and enjoy!
Serve hot/warm with ketchup or tamarind-date chutney
