For Day 3 week 2 of BM #43, here is another gluten free kheer suitable for offering as naivedyam to the Lord as well as qualifies as 'vrat ka khana'.
We found it very filling and delicious.
Ingredients -
Little Millet / Sama 3 Tbsp
Milk 4 cups
Sugar 3/4 cup (or more if needed) [I used dark brown sugar]
Almonds and Cashews handful each, powdered
Cardamom Powder 1/2 tsp
Method Of Preparation -
In a heavy bottomed pan, heat milk and when it is just about boiling, add the little millet and the powdered nuts.
Mix well and let it simmer on medium to low heat for about 15 minutes.
After the little millet is cooked through, add sugar and let the sugar melt and simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
Sprinkle the cardamom powder, mix well and remove from heat.
Serve it warm for a delectable dessert.
Preparation Time 25 min
Serves 8-10
