Continuing with the theme of dressing up the leftovers for Blogging Marathon - Edition 9, I have forever been thinking of reusing Idlis to make this Chilli Idli. But the adults at home are so fond of their idlis, that they refuse to let go of them. Now can't blame us, Can you? But there came a day when there were in fact some idlis leftover from breakfast. Now was the opportunity to trick my older one into eating idlis.
When I made this for an after school snack, she gladly had seconds. Later at night, when I told her that I had tricked her into eating idlis, she refused to believe me. That in itself is a huge compliment for me :)

Ingredients -
Idli 4 nos (chopped into bite size pieces)
Onion sliced 1 cup
Tomato diced 1/2 cup
Jeera powder 1 tsp
Chilli powder 1/4 tsp (or as per taste)
Salt as per taste
Soy sauce 1 tsp (or as per taste)
Seasoning (oil 2 tsp, jeera 1 tsp, peanuts handful)
Lemon Juice a dash if preferred
Method Of Preparation -
In a skillet, heat oil and add jeera and peanuts and roast them until brown.
Saute the sliced onions and add the diced tomato. After the tomato becomes a little mushy, add the chopped idli.
Drizzle in the soy sauce, add jeera(cumin) powder, chilli powder and salt.
Feel free to add any other masala powders of your preference.
Give a gentle mix to the mixture and switch off the stove. Squeeze in some lemon juice to taste!Serve hot and watch the 'Idlis' disappear!!
