Goda Masala

BM #63 Day 7 -

I understand that this Goda Masala also known as Kala Masala is a very essential spice powder in a Maharashtrian kitchen. There are people who vouch that an Amti is incomplete without this Masala.

Needless to say that there are umpteen number of versions of this masala but this is the one shared by my friend.

Recipe Source Shalaka
Ingredients -

Coriander seeds 5 tsp
Coconut Powder 2 tsp
Sesame Seeds 2 tsp
Asafotida 1/4 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
Shajeera 1/2 tsp
Cloves 4-5
Cinnamon 1-2 inch
Bay Leaf 1
Dagad phool / Rathi Puvvu 1 pinch

Dry roast coconut powder and sesame seeds and set aside.

In a 1/2 tsp of oil fry coriander seeds, Shajeera, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf and dagad phool one after the other and set aside.
