This was a chanced experiment in my kitchen as I had some bread slices which were not being used up. Preparing breakfast everyday is a big challenge for me because of the ever changing tastes of my kids. I know for sure that any Dosa/Uthappam variety will be consumed without any major complaints. So I decided to try out this combo and it sure didn't fail me! Try this combo and I am sure it will be a winner!

Ingredients -

Rolled Oats 1 cup
Bread slices 2-4
Rice Flour 1/2 cup
Curd/Yogurt 1 cup
Onions finely chopped 1/2 cup
Tomatoes finely chopped 1/2 cup
Ginger grated 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies finely chopped as required
Jeera 1 tsp
Hing couple pinches
Coriander Leaves finely chopped 2 Tbsp
Salt as per taste
Oil if required when cooking on the tava!

Method Of Preparation -

Toast the bread slices and powder them.

In a mixing bowl, add the bread powder, coarsely powdered oats , rice flour and the rest of the ingredients except oil. Add water if necessary to get a batter of pouring consistency (Sligthly thick). Set it aside for 5-10 min.

On a hot tava/pan/penam, pour ladleful of batter and spread it in a circular motion to make an uthappam.

Cook on both the sides till they are golden brown. Continue for the rest of the batter.

Serve it with chutney of your choice!
