These pakodis were an impromptu addition to a sudden party arranged at our place and I couldn't resist posting it today in spite of my original plan :).
Our friends were very skeptical to even try these out but in the end went home happy for having tasted a super crispy appetizer! We had to make multiple batches of these pakodis and ultimately the kids skipped their dinner too. So these definitely make a great addition to any party!
Check it out for Day 8 Week 1 of BM #27.
Ingredients -
*Bhindi / Okra, chopped into 1 cm rings 3 cups
Besan / Chickpea Flour 1/2 cup
Rice flour 1/2 cup
Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Chaat Masala, Black Salt as needed
Oil for deep frying
* Thawed frozen cut okra can be used instead.
Method Of Preparation -
Mix all the ingredients adding as little water as needed to make a thick coating of the flours on all the okra pieces. [For the kids we just added salt to the flours and sprinkled the remaining flavors as needed after the pakodis were done.]
In a deep frying pan, heat oil and gently drop each of the okra pieces until the pan is filled and fry until they are golden brown and crispy. Repeat until all of them are fried.
Drain onto paper towels and enjoy them hot.
